Causes

All sports and all places where sports are played by millions of children and adults have been devastated by Katrina and the New Orleans floods. Equipment including football helmets, shoulder pads, goalposts, scoreboards, locker rooms, balls, bats, racquets and just about everything you need to play your favorite sport has been obliterated. Sports are a vital part of our human growth. They keep us fit and the teach us how to compete, how to think and how to play like part of a team. For the regions affected by Katrina, sports equipment will be hard to come by.
